Hey, folks. Just for awareness, Sanguine 3 is on sale at 50% off this week as a part of Steams Zombies vs Vampires sale. If you were on the fence about buying the game before, give it a try.

I released a patch last week that includes two new movement options in the game.
The first is tumbling. If the player presses down and forward while hitting the ground, the player will perform a roll. When the player tumbles, they move at maximum speed plus a small boost and if they jump part of the way through the animation, they will leap into the air and preserve their boosted speed. Tumbling takes longer than the standard landing though and if the player isn't careful, they could roll off a ledge or tumble into danger.
Landing lag is an important design element that I cannot part ways with, but I also understand how sluggish it feels trying to navigate terrain and deal with the constant stopping. Tumbling can be a very fun way of boosting yourself along, especially in longer stretches of the game. Jumping out of the tumble feels very similar to jumping out of a horizontal chain grab in Sanguine 2. It's basically a ceiling slide... on the floor!
The second is a power up. When Eleanor collects a purple orb, she'll have wings that can give her an upward boost. Holding the jump button while Eleanor is falling activates the wings. The faster Eleanor is falling, the greater the upwards boost she gets.
I felt like the game really needed something else to collect that was worth your while. The humble blood orb just isn't what it used to be. Wings are almost always useful as a little extra jump but give a much bigger distance if you're falling at full speed, allowing the player to make great big swoops to recover height and extend their distance.
I think these additions help address some of the criticisms of the game and I think they're a lot of fun to play with.
